Shopping in China
The Humane Society is giving advice for people traveling to China for the Olympics or on a future vacation. The Society is giving information on what to buy and eat when in China.They are providing this information so people can make animal friendly decisions. One example is that it is legal to buy ivory in China but it is illegal to bring back to the United States because it comes from poached elephants. Dogs and cats are killed in China for their fur.So guests need to be careful of items that are made from or trimmed in fur or leather. Souvenirs recommended are Tea,jewelery,carvings,and other crafts made from cloth,pottery,paper,stone,or metal. |
