Bush administration is fiscally irresponsible
We have had eight years of the most fiscally irresponsible administration in our nation's history. Not only has Bush amassed the largest national debt America has ever had, that debt increase is greater than the combined debt increases of all the other 42 presidents who preceded him. The national debt is over $9.5 trillion. The interest we must pay on that debt alone is $200 billion annually. How has Bush been able to max out the credit card of this generation and the next? By spending money without raising taxes to pay the bills. We print more money causing a dramatic devaluation of the dollar, which in turn causes oil prices and the cost of everything else we buy from abroad to skyrocket. We borrow money from coutries like China and Japan to whom we are already in hock to the tune of hundreds of billions of dollars. What kind of thinking leads to this fiscal irresponsibility? Politicians know that there are two promises they must make to voters if they wish to be elected. They must promise to lower taxes and they must promise not deprive people of entitlements like Social Security and Medicars. Americans don't want to have to pay for government, but they insist on the services that government provides. |
